Pyramid Cake

Hello !

Today I decided to post about my pyramid cake :)

Just to make it clear, I don't have a mind that filled with inspiration or imagination like Hans Christian do. I'm actually pretty much dying due to the pain of creating something. I usually sit the whole day (actually 20 minutes and after that 1 hour of korean drama lol) in front of my computer watching cooking videos and other people's blog searching for ideas. But still, it's a mystery why my skill haven't been upgraded. Maybe it's because of the korean drama's curse but who cares. I just love watching it so much.

SO... last week I accidentally come across my uncle's home decoration statue and an idea cross my mind. How about making a pyramid-like cake. Of course making that kind of cakes is easy as long you have the mold but I don't have any. So, I make my own using a used cardboard(a good and strong one) and aluminum foil.

You can also make this by making 4 triangle. You can custom design your triangle according to your idea but I make mine 9 cm as the base and the height 11,5 cm. For me, result of  the cake from this mold was a very big portion cake for one person. The size of the cake is probably 80% bigger than the famous union red velvet cake.

The triangle

(To make the mold you just have to connect the 4 triangle using tape so you can get the pyramid-like mold. Make sure the aluminum foil is new so the mold is clean and ready to use)

To be honest, this cake is easy to make but if you got the combination wrong: it could be a disaster. You have to calculate the amount of cakes, cream, or other elements you need  on the right amount. Since I'm a lazy one and much more a impulsive maker, i don't count it correctly and my sister complained for having a very weird combination(since I used pudding as one of the elements) HAHAHA sorry sister:")

Here's my cake description:

1st element (the base) : Chocolate cake

2nd element : Milky pudding

3rd element : Chocolate cake

4th element : Cream cheese

5th element : Chocolate cake

If any of you reading this: please don't make the same mistake like me. Don't ever and EVER combine cream cheese and milky pudding. You should combine sweet stuff with a little sour not with another sweet. I'm regretting so much. That's why I didn’t  named  this: Chocolate-pudding-cream cheese pyramid cake because the names already making you a little hestitate eating it.  Right?

This tragedy also explain a lot to me why people don't do a cream cheese and a chocolate cake combination. Maybe I should just make a red velvet cream cheese pyramid cake:") my precious cream cheese just got to waste *sad*

I'm in love with this peak selfie photo HAHA

I also decide to do something a little weird but totally worth the weirdness: sugar coloring. I used a liquid food coloring. The ratio is about 1:3(1 spoon of confectionary sugar and 3 drops of liquid food coloring). The sugar always turn out to be so pretty but I didn't dare to eat them(It's unhealthy also)

I decide to sparkle the cake surrounding with this colored sugar but the result didn't turn out very nice as I expected. But I  happy enough for finally trying this weird thing haha

Thank you for visiting my post. See you next time all :)
