Have any of you guys wonder how life in Jatinangor feels like?

Or do you have in mind of choosing ITB Jatinangor or UNPAD but too afraid to take the risk of living in Jatinangor?

Chill, I also know that feeling.

Since I fall in love with the art of cooking, I always think what can I do with that. I'm thinking of many possibilites and plan but nothing feels okay. One day, I come accross with the news of  ITB's new major: Food Engineering.

At that time, I'm so happy! I quickly submit my not so great school's grades for that. Am I that confident? Actually no. I didn't hope much at that time because at my school only the smartest kids get in. The ratio is about 1 out of 30 in my school. As a normal student with a normal grades, i'm only testing if i'm lucky enough.

And then the result is out

I GOT IN

What the hell i'm dreaming last night

I dont know

Maybe a Tooth fairy finally gives her reply after stealing my tooth all these years.

I'm indeed so happy but sadly that's only for a short moment. All my friend quickly text me with tons of messages: "Are you really sure you want to live in Jatinangor?"

That makes me think again. Can I ?

Will I survive?

I know it's not apocalypse yet, but not having a good mall for stress-of-studying escape is scary. What if I can't eat delicious food anymore? or dessert? The last one is the hardest for me actually.

But I'm trying to be positive here.

I believe that God always have a plan. Maybe this is God's way to answer my can-I-get-slim prayer.

Time pass by

Today marks the third week since I first live in Jatinangor.

Did I survive? Yes

Am i happy? Way more than i ever expect

I'm not regretting a thing! Campus Jatinangor is indeed a beautiful place. The air is very fresh, the food at the campus is very healthy, and not to forget, you also have the priviledge of getting enough sleep everyday because here, all classes start at 8 am above. Not only that, here in campus Jatinangor you also can have unlimited photo's ideas. There are so many places you can take ala-ala picture without getting embarassed. Why? simply, because there's no people that will suddenly come out of no-where and stare at your embarassing photoshoot moment lol

So fun right?

So this is what i get for forcing my friend to become my model. Actually i'm quite proud lol. It's still looks good even though he refused. *winning face*

I think it's a wise solution that ITB opening this campus. At ganesha campus, every june there's approximately 3500 new students get in. If all the students follow the quickest graduation time which is 4 years then 4 times 3500 is 14000 people. We all know that in real life there's so many people that didn't graduate on time due to many excuses. So that makes more than 14000 people on Ganesha campus everyday. Just imagine, more than 14000 people on 286,830 m2 everyday, isn't the space too small?

For that reason, i agree with ITB for making this campus, but i'm still hoping that ITB doesn't lower it's standart by opening more seats. You all know more quantity inversely proportional to quality.

For consumption, here we only have one main canteen and two small daily life's need stores(located on the dormitory). I MUST TELL YOU THE FOOD AT THE CANTEEN IS SO GOOD! It cost around 10-12k everytime i eat (consits of rice, one meat selection, one vegetables, and fried fermented soybean patty). But if you want to eat cheaper than 10k or more expensive, you can discard or add another side dish. For the ratio out of 10 i would like to give their food a 8. It's already a good one for Campus's food.

What surprise me more, here, in the canteen, we have an ice cream machine ! You can freely buy the icecream for 5k each. It's so refreshing and nyum. Imagine eating an icream after a long tiring hot class AAA it's makes me wanna buy that machine for myself.

For some of you who wonders what places you can go with your friends here at Nangor, i have some to share with you!

I already went to some famous place here and i have to say it's not that bad. Here we have places that Bandung didn't have. Here's the list of the place i already visit:

1. Checo Cafe & Resto

This place is a must if you miss going to feel some cafe's vibe. They provided uno stacks, and many other games to fill your time, perfect for some "gabut" univeristy's student like me. For food i only recommend their creamy chicken nest, molten chocolate or green tea lava, and creme brule. Other than that, i don't really suggest you to try it. When i went there, i tried their Aglio Oglio and it's taste so bad.

2.Bebek Jegeg

Located on some mysterius basement that i till this day never figure out again where it is, this place is a must. Their kriuk is soooo gooodd makes me want to buy 10 of it and take it home.

(Updated 22 June 2017 : This place is already closing. Bye ducky *sad*)

3. Waroeng SS

I have to say that my greatest discovery here is this. Their food is soo good. I always order their sambal terasi, telor dadar bakar, terong goreng tepung, and jamur goreng tepung(All for 12k). Ahh writing this already makes me want to go there again.. but too bad, you going to need a car or motorcycle to go there because it's so far from the main street.

4. D'Wiscar

This shop is one of the simple-unguilty-get away. Why? Because they provide you with the best ice fruits that is so delicious (All fruits selection for 10k).

5. Kedai Indra

Located in front of Griya Jatinangor, this place is the best for seafood here. Their famous one: cumi goreng tepung, ikan ayam-ayam, and mie goreng seafood.

6. Bakso Kankung

If any of you really like yamien then this place is the answer! Their yamien is so delicious. You have to try it yourself

Too bad, i didn't take any picture of their food. Maybe some day, when i have the time, i will post another post for Jatinangor Culinary

There are four way for you to visit this campus from Bandung:

1. TRANS NANGOR

This is a free shuttle bus mainly operate from ITB Ganesha to ITB Jatinangor. You can start your journey at the front gate of Ganesha campus. Just seat patiently, this bus will deliver you to ITB's Jatinangor domitories. But be carefull! Since it's free, this bus is very strict. They didn't tolerate you for any mistakes. It's not a rare ocassion that some people getting left behind even if their bags already inside the bus.

For more information you can add their official account on line : @xej5250h

2.DAMRI

If any of you guys wondering which one of this many transportation i  most use then the answer is damri! This is a shuttle bus that operate from UNPAD Dipati Ukur to UNPAD Jatinangor. It cost only 7k each ride. Cheap enough right? The facility inside is also so good. It's like taking bus on Singapore. Full AC ride for 7k, why not? But you have to be be carefull. This shuttle bus is a no for a person who is in a rush. Last time i take this, it takes 2 hour in total.

For more information you can visit www.damri.co.id

3. KKP

This a shuttle bus that operate like TRANS NANGOR ( ITB Ganesha to ITB Jatinangor). Cost for 12k, i think this is also a good one because it's only take approximately 40-60 minutes: perfect for those who is in a rush.

4. TRAVEL

There are many travel in Jatinangor that serve the rute for Jatinangor-Bandung. The price may vary considering what travel you take. Based on all my friend's experience it cost around 18-20k.

Here are some travel that I know:

ARNES : http://www.shuttle.arnes.id/
 (cost 20k)

GEULIS:  Reservasi shuttle 085794532196 (Nangor), 085794532195 (BDG)

So that's it!
