Being a university student doesn't always mean learning-filled-schedule.
There's so many things you can do.
Hanging out with friends, learn new stuff out of your major field, create something, or anything. You can do almost everything. I think being a university student is a chance to develop yourself way more. Explore what you like and don't. Seek what potential you might have, or even meet new people. It's one of the crucial life's moment and i always think ways of making it more special.
Imagine, when you parent visits you or maybe your friend come to your dormitory, it's already a must for us to make them feel special.
But how?
Being a University student also means being a dormitory resident with no access to kitchen or anything like that. It's actually quite saddening me since i really want to develop my skill more.
So i came out with an idea: An easy cake
It's so simple
All you need is a rice cooker, a mixer, and a spatula.
Presenting to you my newest creation: Pouding gȃteau aux fraises doux
Sounds cool right? Lol it's actually a simple pudding cake. Names do really change a lot of thing.
What i like about this cake is that the cake's surface is so pretty and smooth (modern cake's specification). So i guess this is perfect for you guys who want to looks professional enough but living in a dormitory.
So this is what you need:
A pudding mix
100 grams of Cake flour
1 egg
70 ml of milk
2 tsp of Vegetable Oil
1 tsp of baking powder
4 tbsp of sugar
500 ml of Water
There's so many things you can do.

If any of you guys wonder what pudding mix i use, this time i use :
Nutrijell's Pudding Mix
I already know this pudding mix from a long time but never had the chance to try it. This cost really cheap (only 9k each). I think it's already a great deal (taste equalize with the price). For the texture, it's feels more like agar but milkier. I think it's pleasurable in some way, some of my friends told me they really like this product. If i have to give a score for this, it's 6 out of 10.
Before using this, i usually use HAAN's pudding mix. It taste way better. I once make it for my birthday party and all my friends ask if i made those pudding. I must say their pudding mix is the best ever. I haven't found a better pudding mix than Haan's one.
So back to our topic, how I make the cake?
1. Fluff your EGG with sugar
You won't get a soft cakes if you don't fluff your egg. You don't need to separate your eggs. You only need to beat the eggs till it holds it's structure and triple in volume. You can mix it with you hands but it's waaaaay too tiring so i suggest you save your arms and buy a mixer(It's a good investment also).
2. Prepare your BATTER
In a separate bowl, mix all your other ingredients: flour, milk, vegetable oil, and baking powder. Make sure you don't get any lumps.
3. Combine the TWO
This is one of the crucial steps. You have to carefully combine those two using spatula. It's need a technique and i suggest you watch some "how to make sponge cake video" on YouTube for a better explanations.
4. Bake your CAKE
Pour your batter into your rice cooker and select the 'cooking' button. Leave your rice cooker until it calls you.
So that's it! You are done with the base cake
If any of you thinking of using a pie base than soft cakes base, i really really agree. It's better to do that since the taste will come out better. I also want to use pie base, but due to limited tools, i decide to make soft cakes instead.
So, after you're done with your base cake, it's time to make the pudding!
It's easy: just follow the instructions on the packaging. You'll make yourself a delicious pudding nyum.
After you done with that all, it's up to you how you want to decorate your cake. I decorate mine using minced strawberry
Doesn't it looks beautiful?
